Press Release

Statement from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office on ICE immigration raids

We are deeply concerned that the proposed immigration raids by the Trump Administration will lead to further distrust between immigrant communities and law enforcement. Our office remains committed to ensuring public safety, and these targeted and unfair policies are putting people at risk. ICE's escalating tactics directly impact victims and witnesses of crime, making them fearful to cooperate and interact in the criminal justice system.

To more efficiently connect and engage with some of our most vulnerable community members, the State’s Attorney’s Office recently hired an Immigration Policy Advisor to assist our office with training and outreach on immigration issues. Additional information about immigration rights and services are available on our website www.cookcountystatesattorney.org.
