Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Reports Nearly 100% Compliance of Office’s COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate
CHICAGO – Today, The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (CCSAO) the second largest prosecutor’s office in the country, is reporting 99.05% compliance with the office’s policy requiring staff be vaccinated by October 15, 2021. Since the policy was announced in August, more than 1,250 employees consisting of attorneys, investigators, and administrative staff have submitted documentation of their vaccination status.
“Science tells us that vaccinations work. This policy was created to not only protect the staff at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, but also the communities we serve,” said Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. “I’m grateful to the dedicated staff in my office for their continued commitment to public service through the pandemic and keeping our communities safe.”
The CCSAO will work with the non-compliant full-time employees who were issued disciplinary letters today to encourage their compliance before requiring termination.
The CCSAO Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy has been an example followed by other prosecutors’ offices across the country.
