Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx Announces Case Data Update
Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx today announced that the Office has launched a dynamic dashboard which provides the community with easy access and rich information on how the office prosecutes felony cases.
The new public data dashboard released today on the office’s website will allow users to quickly access and view information about case approvals, case dispositions, and sentencing, including information about the most often charged offenses. The information on the dashboard will be updated daily and will be built on the most recent case data available.
In 2018, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office was the first prosecutor’s office in the country to release de-identified case level data to increase transparency and insight about the work of the office and crime prosecuted in Cook County.
“I am pleased to continue the unmatched transparency of our office’s work through this new data tool which allows all users, even those without advanced technical expertise, to see the results of cases prosecuted by the office from review to conviction,” said State’s Attorney Foxx. “It is important for the public to know about the work of this Office and our commitment to prosecute crime in a manner that is fair, equitable and just.”
The new public data dashboard was produced with support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation as part of the Safety and Justice Challenge. The dashboard can be accessed at https://www.cookcountystatesattorney.org/about/data-reports.
