Investigations Bureau Employment

The Investigations Bureau consists of sworn officers. This Bureau has three Commands:  Trial Support, Special Operations and Administrative Services.  Each of these Commands has a number of functional Sections and Squads.  The goals of the Investigations Bureau are threefold: (1) to provide investigative and logistical support to Assistant State’s Attorneys in their preparation and presentation of cases scheduled for trial, (2) to complement or supplement local law enforcement efforts by providing them with investigative assistance, expertise and technical resources, and (3) to initiate and conduct investigations of offenses which are very specialized and which, for a number of reasons, may not be handled by other law enforcement agencies, e.g., official misconduct, public integrity, election fraud, child support, domestic violence and complex financial crimes.
